    Frequently Asked Questions

LCL stands for “Less than a container load” and refers to cargo that does not fill a full 20 or 40-foot shipping container.

Less than container load shipments are paired with other cargo since they do not occupy a complete 20ft or 40ft shipping container. Less than container load shipments are sometimes referred to as groupage shipments because of this.

While commonly confused with LCL, a loose cargo shipment is one that is not palletized. This word can refer to shipments that don’t need to be palletized and/or can’t be containerized because of their size.

Loose cargo is a term that is sometimes used to describe items that have not yet been palletized. Almost all carriers demand that items be palletized to reduce damage and facilitate loading and unloading.

When shipping LCL, you only pay for the volume you require, rather than a set charge as with FCL.

Yes, you can track & trace your shipment and click on the “Follow” button to be kept up to date on the latest milestones.

This generally depends on the terms (the INCOTERM to be specific) in which the shipment has moved under. Who pays for what charges, and where, are defined by the INCOTERMS agreed between the Seller and Buyer.

This depends on the countries being shipped from and being shipped to, for more information contact your local office.
